Pine Richland Youth Football and Cheerleading is part of the United Youth Football League. The United Youth Football League states that all organizations having 2 or more teams must re-draft players at the start of each season. AFTER open registration is completed on May 1, 2023 and all coaches have been selected, all players will be drafted to a team for their respective age division. Players will be notified of their team selection via e-mail. Football players and cheerleaders from the same family will be placed in the same color division.
If there are siblings with different last names, please let
Jenna Webb know this PRIOR to
May 1, 2023 at
.
EMAIL DISTRIBUTION LIST
For anyone to be added to your child’s email distribution list to receive all correspondences from the league and their team, you have to do that on your end by logging into your account on the website. When you log on to the website (www.pryouthfootballandcheer.com), click on the top bar where it says My Account. You will then see a green button that says Add Guardian. You can then enter the person's contact information on the next screen including their email address and as long you do not have the box checked that says "Do not email" they will be added to the list.
FOOTBALL
Practice
Practice begins the week of July 24, 2023. Coaches will reach out once teams are drafted for that week’s schedule. Coaches will communicate a detailed plan for this week once teams are drafted.
Full Pads
Full pads practice starts on July 31, 2023. We have historically practiced 5 days per week (Monday – Friday, 6 – 8 PM) until school begins.
The expectation is for your child to fully participate in practice,
as we strive to develop the children for the season.
During the season, football practices are limited to 3 practices per week by league rules. Practice typically occurs 6-8 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday,
subsequently adjusted as daylight diminishes during the fall season.
Players are REQUIRED to attend a minimum of 2 out 3 practices to be able to play on Saturday of the applicable week, but are encouraged to attend all practices to ensure continuity and increase player development.
Football practice locations will include the football fields at
Richland Community Park and Pine Community Park.
As we get closer to practice, a detailed schedule will be provided.
CHEERLEADING
Recreational Cheer:
Small Team- girls entering 1st and 2nd grade
Middle Team- girls entering 3rd and 4th grade
Big Team- girls entering 5th, 6th, and 7th grade
Girls do not have to try out for a recreational squad. Team placement for the recreational teams will be posted on the website under the Cheer Section.
Cheer teams will be determined after the football players have been drafted and assigned their teams so that siblings can be aligned. The recreational teams will cheer at all football games with the expectation that the girls will remain at the games from beginning until end.
Practice for recreational cheer teams starts on July 31, 2023. A detailed schedule will follow as soon as the football schedule is announced by the league.
The first week of practice of recreational cheer teams is choreography camp week and it is MANDATORY that your child attend this week of practice to allow them to cheer in the half time routine at the opening day football game.
Any absence during choreography week must be approved by the Cheer VP. Once school begins, practice will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings until mid-September when recreational practice will cease.
Cheerleading practices will take place at Richland Community Park,
unless otherwise specified by the VP of Cheerleading or the Secretary.
Additional fees and cost for cheerleaders only.
Anything that touches the skin falls under the
parents' responsibility as decided by the Board.
Competitive Cheer:
We have two Competitive Cheer Squads: Small Competitive Cheer (entering Grades 1-3) and Big Competitive Cheer (entering Grades 4-7). Please note that the Comp Cheer is a separate registration ($100 fee) in addition to the recreational cheer teams. You must be registered for rec cheer in order to also be eligible to register for comp cheer.
**Please note that ONE YEAR of cheer experience is REQUIRED in order to join the Big Competitive Cheer Team.
**Also note that there may be additional fees required after registration depending on some of the competitions.
All registered cheerleaders are welcome to join our competitive teams.
** You DO NOT have to have tumbling skills to make the team.
Practice for our competitive teams is MANDATORY. The first day of competitive cheer practice is July 24th and is choreography week. The girls will have their tumbling and stunting assessed, taught their routine, and given their spots this week.
Therefore, ALL MUST ATTEND choreography week to be on the team.
No exceptions.
****Please note*** Cheerleading is a team sport. When even one cheerleader is missing, it prevents the entire team from practicing stunts and running their routines correctly/safely.
A detailed schedule will be posted as soon as the football schedule
is announced by the league.
Competitive cheer practice will likely run through the beginning of December.
**All girls on the competitive teams are required to fully participate in the recreational team that they are placed on as well or risk removal from the competitive team.
Anyone who would like more information regarding recreational or competitive cheer should contact the
Cheer VP, Lynne Kelly at pryouthcheer@gmail.com.
We look forward to another successful year!!
Sincerely,
PRUYFaC Board
